Introduction to USDN
Welcome to USDN's documentation. Here you'll find comprehensive guides and documentation to help you start working with USDN solutions as quickly as possible.
This documentation is still under development. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions, please let us know by contacting our support team.
What is USDN?
USDN is a next-generation SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) platform that separates data plane and control/config plane for clarity and security:
- Data plane: High-performance encrypted tunnels (WireGuard, IPsec) between sites and remote users, processed on edge VPP.
- Control plane: TCP/443 device sessions (WebSocket + mTLS) to a highly available controller cluster.
- Config plane: USDN Chain — a permissioned ledger on the controller cluster for encrypted orders, route advertisements, and auditability (not legacy edge MultiChain P2P).
This design combines SD-WAN flexibility with immutable configuration history and zero-trust device identity.
What does USDN offer?
USDN provides a comprehensive suite of SD-WAN solutions. Our platform includes:
- SD-WAN Mesh Data Plane: Intelligent routing over encrypted site-to-site tunnels (WireGuard / IPsec)
- AD-Home Remote Access: Secure remote access platform that enables users to connect to edge devices from anywhere, providing seamless management and monitoring capabilities
- AI-Powered Network Assist: Sentinel AI chat agent (text, with optional voice input) helps customer admins diagnose device/WAN issues, review config drift, and draft guided changes (for example tunnels and traffic steering). Writes require human confirmation or MFA; alert briefs are read-only recommendations, not autonomous remediation.
- Multi-Protocol Tunnel Support: Flexible connectivity using WireGuard, IPsec, and other industry-standard tunneling protocols
- Zero Trust Security Architecture: Comprehensive security framework with 2FA/MFA, YubiKey integration, and node whitelisting
- USDN Chain Config Plane: Permissioned ledger on controllers for secure, auditable configuration and route distribution
Key Features
- Unified Control on :443: Device mTLS for events and manifests; USDN Chain gRPC for configuration streams
- Remote Device Management: Access and manage edge devices from anywhere with AD-Home's secure remote access platform
- AI-Driven Assist: Conversational Sentinel AI for status, RCA playbooks, and human-confirmed provisioning — not autonomous predictive optimization.
- Secure Data Transport: Fully encrypted tunnels with diverse protocols and device identity verification
- Real-time B2B Connectivity: Immediate site-to-site connectivity to any network on-net with sub-second provisioning
- Cost-Effective Solution: Industry-leading SD-WAN pricing with enterprise-grade security included
- Zero Trust Security: Integrated security at every layer with 2FA/MFA, YubiKey support, and granular access controls
- Scalable Architecture: Seamlessly integrates with existing WAN infrastructure and scales with your business needs
